IMG_1274_edited.jpg

Carrying out engine rebuilds has become a fundamental part of what we do here at N Sandell Ltd. We have a wealth of experience in this, having built hundreds of engines from core units, for customer's cars as well as directly for a major parts supplier.

We are able to bring engines down to their rawest form and build them back up into incredible machines ready to run these beautiful cars for many years to come. This is truly a testament to the quality and longevity of these cars, we take pride in our ability to revitalise these beautiful machines. From teardown to tuning, the care and expertise we put into these restorations is unparalleled.

Our workshops are arranged for efficiency when it comes to engine rebuilds, our latest state of the art high power pressure washing cabinet allows us to effectively clean parts rapidly and more efficiently than ever before.

This, in combination with our wide variety of genuine and aftermarket stock parts within our stores, means that we have everything on hand to get the job done right.

Here is a bit of insight into our process of restoring engines and bringing them back to life.

Stripping, Cleaning and Prepping

Stripping the engine down to the bare block is the first step in the restoration process. This allows us to asses every single part and identify where any replacements may be necessary.

The block and any parts which are not being replaced are deep cleaned either by hand or using our pressure jet washing cabinet. Once this has been completed to the highest standard we can then begin the re-assembly process.

Re-Building Process

Rebuilding engines is like a science, everything is put together with precision, every bolt tightened to it's specific torque, every piece returned to it's original place.

'Belt, and Braces' is Nigel's saying when it comes to putting these beautiful machines back together, everything is double or even triple checked, the attention to detail is key.

Tuning and perfecting

After an engine is re-assembled it often needs extensive testing and tuning to ensure it is running smoothly. Listening to the engine and understanding what needs adjusting is a skill developed over many years, we are proud to say we are confident and proficient to do this effectively. Our specialist engine rig allows us to run engines for as long as necessary before returning them to the car or customer who they belong to.
